School Chef – Cuffley

We are currently recruiting for our client for a School Chef based in Cuffley, Hertfordshire.

32.5 hours a week, 7:30am – 2:00pm
H3.5 (£24,790) to H5.10 (£26,835) Full Time Equivalent;

Actual Salary, pro-rata for term time only hours, is £18,207 to £19,709

Due to staff retirement, our client is looking for someone who has a passion for food and is a creative
cook; wanting to deliver consistently, high-quality meals for our children and staff.
What we are looking for:
Currently looking to appoint a committed School Chef, with a passion for delivering high quality
nutritious meals. This is an exciting opportunity to cook in a primary school within a supportive
community.

Purpose of the Role: To take responsibility for the safe, effective and efficient operation of all
activities within the kitchen, including planning, preparation and cooking of meals.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and prepare balanced multi-choice menus according to nutritional standards
and taking into account allergies, dietary needs and preferences of pupils, their
varied cultural and religious backgrounds, and costs and budgets
• Prepare, cook and oversee the cooking of a range of food items.
• Organise and manage the work of other kitchen staff, including ensuring they have
been adequately trained
• Operate and ensuring maintenance of kitchen equipment, following training
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen in
accordance with health and safety, food hygiene and COSHH regulations at all times
• Order food, beverages and other commodities from designated suppliers and
ensure hygienic storage in accordance with domestic and catering standards
• Cater for functions if required
